The North East Food and Drink (NEFD) project has taken many shapes and forms over the past few years. The more recent activities are outlined below.

In 2006 there were a number of topics being discussed in the food and drink industry which later appeared as workshop sessions and a portal similar to this one. The topics were packaging, health and nutrition, productivity and waste, supply chains, exporting and skills.

Since this time carbon footprinting has become more and more prominent and so the above topics have largely remained the same in terms of importance to the industry.

After a very successful project (and support to the Northern Way's NFIIN project) the NEFD project has now undertaken the GROWTH programme to help companies to engage with the massive opportunity in public procurement.
